Graffitist Character Line Up
I'm struggling with the colors of my characters, especially the two in the middle. My goal was to use cooler shadows to create stronger contrast, but the overall result still looks muddy and dull to me. I'm having a hard time figuring out whether the problem is my hue shifts, saturation, value relationships, or how the colors are interacting overall.
One thing I do like is the pink highlight I added to the cop—it adds some color variation and makes the lighting feel more interesting. I'm wondering if I should introduce a similar accent color to the other characters to unify the lighting and make the whole piece feel more cohesive.
Another issue is that my first character somehow ended up looking much more desaturated than I intended, and I'm not entirely sure how that happened. I'm debating whether I should push the saturation, introduce warmer midtones, or adjust the shadow colors to bring them back to life without making the palette feel overly colorful.
I'd really appreciate any feedback on what specifically is making the colors feel muddy and what changes I could make to achieve cleaner color separation, more vibrant lighting, and better overall harmony while still keeping the cool shadows.
